Signs

Last Tuesday Rhys told us about a silver watch with the date '25th' inscribed. The date seemed important. Well, it was important and I didn't realise it at the time. I had been asking for a sign with either of two dates, and the 25th was especially significant. Thank you Rhys :)

Yes the signs are all around us. Your recipient also wants a sign or can be given one. Sometimes I say to my clients the spirit is wanting you to know that you will see two butterfly's soon and they will be black and blue. It will be two of them not one and this will be them letting you know they are with you. It can also be songs, , birds, feathers, a series of numbers. As long as it can be created and achieved physically, spirit can make it manifest over time. Ask for these signs from each of your own loved ones and overtime I have no doubt that some of you will get your own proof your loved ones are still with you today more than ever.

Directed and contemplative meditation

The retreat has a morning and night meditation (directed meditation) and for the remainder of the time the opportunity for reflection (contemplative meditation).

What I hope for most and what I fear the most can often be the same thing! I therefore do have some apprehension and yet at the same time excitement to be a part of this retreat.

As the retreat nears I will need to tell work and family that my phone will be off for 6 days and I will be…

Knowledge is valuable but experience is precious!

Gen Kelsang Rabten the National Spiritual Director for Kadampa Buddhism in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia said "Knowledge is valuable but experience is precious". This comment really resonated with me as we all continue our mentorship experience based on new-found knowledge.

There are new experiences that come our way and it is our choice to be open to these and decide if they are right for us. At the commencement of next year I will attend a 'silent retreat' that incorporates 2 daily meditations. I am looking forward to this experience now that I have more knowledge of meditation through the mentorship course.

How much time is really being dedicated to meditation?

Going from a session totally engaged to one where half the session I am spending acknowledge thoughts and trying to concentrate on my breathing, I look forward to some sage advice from veteran meditators tonight for newbies like me! I've searched for articles that may help in strengthening my mediation skills and have added one below that may be of interest to others.
